The park is named after its most treasured feature, Amicalola Falls – a magnificent 729-foot waterfall that’s the third-highest cascading waterfall east of the Mississippi River.

Blood Mountain

This mountain is one of North Georgia’s most popular day hikes, and it’s the highest-elevation summit on the Appalachian Trail in Georgia. Stunning views. A heart-pounding workout on the relatively steep ascent to the Blood Mountain summit. It’s one all-around fantastic hike.

One of the most spectacular canyons in the eastern U.S., Tallulah Gorge is two miles long and nearly 1,000 feet deep.   We hike the view-packed Hurricane Falls Trail as it skirts the gorge rim, descends to the gorge floor and crosses a suspension bridge to the thundering Hurricane Falls waterfall.  The dissention, ascension includes over 1,000 stair steps.
